PROJET COSMIC-PI

As an ex-member of the Bristol University Cosmic Ray Group (that developed and launched science payloads from the Cardington and Texas) I was interested to read about this project...http://www.ohwr.org/projects/cosmic-pi/wiki.

No mention in the description of attempting to fly the proposed detectors but they should be light and compact enough for a HAB payload.

En tant qu'ex-membre du Cosmic Ray Group Université de Bristol (qui a développé et lancé des charges utiles scientifiques du Cardington et du Texas), je me suis intéressé à ce projet ...
http: //www.ohchr.org/projects/cosmic- pi / wiki.

Aucune mention dans la description pour tenter de faire voler les détecteurs proposés mais ils devraient être assez légers et compacts pour une charge utile HAB. (ndlr : BHA).

UK : two balloons on monday 11th April 2016

Dear All,

I'm helping 2 groups of students at a local school to launch a HAB each on Monday 11th April.

One is seeing what happens to different liquids (egg white, egg yolk, water, milk, vegetable oil and paint) at high altitude and the other is investigating the speed of sound.

Balloon 1:
Launch time: 11:30 local (UTC+1)
Callsign = HERMES
434.3MHz USB RTTY 50 baud 480Hz shift ASCII-7 no parity 2 stop bits
Balloon: 800g Hwoyee
payload mass: 1400g

Balloon 2:
Launch time: 11:40 local (UTC+1)
Callsign = VALKYRIE
434.5MHz USB RTTY 50 baud 480Hz shift ASCII-7 no parity 2 stop bits
Balloon: 800g Hwoyee
payload mass: 1200g

Launch site is Waddesdon Secondary school (51.8427, -0.9178).
Predicted landing location is about 15 miles west of Leicester.

Any help tracking would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I will be on #highaltitude on the day.

Thanks,
Sammy

Pi tracker using LoRa on 434.500MHz le 7 avril 2016 à 11h.

Early notice for a flight I'm hoping to do next Thursday.

It has a single Pi tracker using LoRa on 434.500MHz, and my "mode 1" (Implicit/EC 4:5/BW 20.8kHz/ SF6), sending telemetry and SSDV.  Payload ID is "ASTROPI".  There will be no RTTY this time.

As well as PITS and LoRa boards, the Pi has a "Sense HAT" as used by Tim Peake on the ISS.  Values from the sensors on that board will be logged locally and included in the telemetry transmissions.

The signal will stop every 30 seconds for a 5-second uplink slot.  By no coincidence whatsoever, the flight date is Tim Peake's birthday and I will be inviting people to tweet suitable messages which will be relayed to the payload via the LoRa uplink.  Messages will then scroll on the Sense HAT LED matrix and recorded on a video camera.  in the absence of tweeted messages, the matrix will display the altitude and temperature.

I'll post the twitter hashtag shortly before the flight.

Dave
