LANCEMENT ARIANESPACE VV09 : Sentinel-2B

La Revue d’Aptitude au Lancement (RAL) s’est déroulée le samedi 4 mars 2017 à Kourou et a autorisé les opérations de chronologie pour le Vol Vega  – Sentinel-2B

Pour son troisième lancement de l’année, et le neuvième avec le lanceur Vega depuis le début de son exploitation au Centre spatial guyanais en 2012, Arianespace mettra en orbite Sentinel-2B, satellite du programme européen d’Observation de la Terre Copernicus, pour la Commission Européenne dans le cadre d’un contrat avec l’Agence Spatiale Européenne (ESA).

Lanceur polyvalent, comme démontré lors de ses 8 premières missions réussies, Vega désormais en pleine ex-ploitation commerciale, réalise pour la sixième fois une mission au service de l’Observation de la Terre.

Le lancement sera effectué depuis l'Ensemble de Lancement Vega (ELV) à Kourou en Guyane française.

ARIANESPACE FLIGHT VV09: Sentinel-2B

The Launch Readiness Review (RAL) took place in Kourou on Saturday, March 4, 2017 and authorized count-down operations for Sentinel-2B.
For its third launch of the year - and the ninth to be performed by the Vega launcher since its first liftoff from the Guiana Space Center in 2012 - Arianespace will orbit the Sentinel-2B satellite, a part of Europe's Copernicus Earth observation program, on behalf of the European Commission within the scope of a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA).

As a multi-purpose launch vehicle that already has demonstrated its capabilities during the eight previous successful missions, Vega is now fully operational in commercial service – and will be performing its sixth flight for Earth observation.

The liftoff will be from the Vega Launch Complex (ELV) in Kourou, French Guiana (South America).
