ANNONCE BALLON PICO le mercredi 11 avril 2012 12h00 GMT

Hey all,

Just to say I'm going to try and launch a pico payload from Kent, the
flight path is out to sea, towards the Netherlands and then up towards
Denmark. The hope is that it'll float at around 5km altitude. This is
a standard Pico payload made up of an arduino mini pro, ublox 6 gps
and rfm22b radio all running off 2xAAA with a lipower stepup module.
All this comes in at a mass of 30g and will be lifted with a single
92cm foil balloon filled with helium.

Hopefully the payload will last for about 24hrs, between the hours of
0700UTC and 1800UTC it'll transmit RTTY 50 baud, 450shift, no parity,
2 stop continuously. Outside these hours it'll transmit a slow-hell
string every 5 minutes and in between these strings it'll send a 0.5s
tone on the same freq every 10 seconds.

As usual the RTTY can be decoded and uploaded via dl-fldigi - just
select PICO and tune to 434.200Mhz. The slow-hell can also be decoded
by dl-fldigi however will need to be transcribed onto the webpage
here:  http://habhub.org/files/picoatlas/ but also recommend posting
to #highaltitude on irc.freenode.net

So:

Between 0700 and 1800 RTTY 50 baud, 450 shift, ascii-8, no parity and 2 stop

Otherwise slow-hell every 5 minutes with 0.5s tones every 10 seconds.

Updates on #highaltitude irc.freenode.net and also twitter @jamescoxon

Listeners very welcome!

James
